We were recently in Addis, for a joint workshop with the African Union Commission, on strengthening the Union’s strategic security sector governance and reform capacity. With lessons learned from The Gambia and Lesotho, this meeting allowed us to take stock of the work done so far and discuss concrete recommendations. Local ownership is a key value for us, so at DCAF we are continuously working with our partners to develop strategic security sector reform skills and frameworks that allow us to enshrine this.
