Liberian civil society organisations partner with the Government of Liberia, OHCHR and UNDP to enhance access to justice

In Liberia, 26 civil society organizations (CSOs) and community-based organizations (CBOs), in partnership with the Government of Liberia, the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), worked to raise legal awareness, provide legal aid and assistance, build the capacity of formal and informal justice actors, and actively monitor the performance of the various justice and security institutions in the counties.

As a result, 21 survivors of SGBV have pushed their cases through the justice system, 518 pre-trial detainees received legal aid services, and 628 monitoring visits were conducted to justice and security institutions in the counties.
