The National Security and Intelligence Committee of Parliamentarians assesses diversity and inclusion within the security and intelligence community in Canada

In Canada, the National Security and Intelligence Committee of Parliamentarians published a review of diversity and inclusion in the Canadian security and intelligence community in 2020, focusing on women, Aboriginal peoples, minorities, and people with disabilities.

This review found that representation of these groups in the security and intelligence community is lower than the public service average. It also highlighted inconsistencies in planning and monitoring to assess progress on this issue, and a lack of accountability for diversity and inclusion across the community. The Committee made several recommendations to help build a more inclusive security and intelligence sector that better reflects the populations it is responsible for protecting.
