In Nigeria, through its 'Empowering citizens to engage in governance' programme, the African Foundation for Environment and Development (AFED) has established a tripartite platform for civil society, the legislature, and the media, to engage the executive and judiciary on issues of governance.

Issues brought forth on the platform include some related to implementing and realizing the SDGs.
