In Nigeria, the House of Representatives and Senate have both established standing committees on the MDGs, and later the SDGs, with the aim of mainstreaming these goals across their legislative work.

As part of their mandate, these standing committees have produced national reports on progress towards achieving development goals, which are debated in parliament before being shared with international organizations such as the UN.
