DCAF published a comprehensive survey of the Security Services of The Gambia in 2020, providing an overview of gender mainstreaming within the security sector. 

The Gambia Immigration Department (GID) was not part of the survey back then. This new report closes this gap and enables a deeper understanding of gender-related challenges female personnel face in the GID concerning recruitment, promotion, deployment, and experience within the institution. 

The report also provides many recommendations for each assessed area, which include the following areas: institutional structure, institutional policies and procedures, personnel, institutional capacity, and accountability.
