Preventing violence and conflict, which poses a direct threat to development actors’ investments and outcomes, is likely to require efforts to strengthen the good governance of the security sector. This session will explore entry points for improving approaches to security sector related analytics and operational support through a prevention lens.

-    How does the poor governance of the security sector contribute to fragility, conflict and violence? How can we improve our assessments of security sector related risk assessments? 
-    How can strengthening the good governance of the security sector contribute to societal resilience? What can we do better through a social contract lens? 
-    How does the security sector intersect with broader objectives of public administration reform, including engagement on justice and rule of law? What has the World Bank learnt from its engagements in this field? 
-    What can we learn from mission-driven partnerships between peace and security and development actors on SSG/R, including public sector expenditure reviews, through a prevention lens?
