CHEDS 2024 International Symposium
Join us in Dakar for the CHEDS 2024 International Symposium “Sovereignty and security in West Africa and the Sahel: towards sustainable solutions”.
In 2023, the symposium brought together nearly one hundred experts from Africa and beyond to discuss and analyse the realities of collective security challenges on the continent in a context marked by endemic security challenges and the resurgence of coups d'état in West Africa. At the end of the event, a number of recommendations were made, including that such a meeting should be made permanent.
The aim of this year's symposium is:
- to analyse the various forms of state sovereignty in West Africa and the Sahel and,
- to propose sustainable solutions to reconcile them with the imperatives of sub-regional cooperation and collective security.
