Jean Conte is a Project Officer for DCAF’s Operations Africa and Middle-East.
Prior to joining DCAF, Jean worked as a project officer at the Council of Europe (CoE), where he implemented several projects in the Balkans in collaboration with the European Commission (EC). He notably implemented a three-year project in Montenegro aimed at building the capacity of both the Constitutional Court and the National Ombudsman to better apply European human rights standards. He had previously worked two years as a lawyer for the European Court of Human Rights (ECtHR) and one year as a junior legal officer for the International Labour Office (ILO).
Jean holds a Master’s Degree in International Law and Human Rights from the University of Paris II Panthéon-Assas.
