Nevenka Tomovič

Nevenka Tomovič has been working with DCAF Border Security Programme as an expert for education and training since 2004. She chaired the DCAF Working Group on Education and Training that resulted in the establishment of the Network of police academies in Southeast Europe. She had contributed to the development and implementation of the International Training Courses for Station and Regional Commanders and the Future Leaders Training Camp. She coordinates the restructured annual DCAF Train the Trainers Summer Camp.

She began her career in the national police as a teacher at the Slovenian Police Academy, was later promoted to Deputy Director of the Police School and Head of Training centre. She was also responsible for EU affairs and international cooperation within the Police Academy, and participated in the MEPA, CEPOL and FRONTEX activities. She chaired the CEPOL Governing Board during the Slovenian Presidency of the Council of the EU in 2008. She holds a diploma from the Faculty of Arts, an MSc degree in Management of non-profit organisations from the Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Ljubljana, and specialisation degree in training and development obtained from the Slovenian-Swiss MASTER Project led by the Centre for Socio-Eco-Nomic Development (CSEND) in Geneva. She also specialised in transactional analysis and neuro-lingustic programming.
