Maxime L. Poulin is the Deputy Head of the Office of DCAF in Tunisia where he spearheads the programmes with the Tunisian Ministry of National Defence and the Tunisian Parliament, l’Assemblée des Représentants du Peuple (ARP). Before joining DCAF, Maxime was a political and policy advisor with the Government of Canada, serving noticeably in the Cabinet of the Minister of Foreign Affairs and in the Cabinet of the Leader of the Official Opposition. He then joined the Washington based National Democratic Institute as a Senior International Field Advisor and, later, Rights & Democracy, a Montreal based organization, as Director of Development. Maxime has worked in advisory positions in the Democratic Republic of Congo, in the Republic of Guinea, and in Iraq. He holds a B.A. in history from the Université de Sherbrooke (Sherbrooke, Canada) and a M.A. in Public Communications from the Université Laval (Quebec City, Canada). He speaks French, English and conversational Spanish.
