For the 8th consecutive time, DCAF organized the Seminar on Cybersecurity Legislation in Athens to discuss the latest developments in the field, including updates to the Cybersecurity Act and the Digital Omnibus initiative. European experts and representatives from the Western Balkans exchanged views on policy implementation and shared national experiences.
The seminar highlighted the growing complexity of cybersecurity and its legislation, which continues to evolve rapidly and generate new challenges and opportunities.
DCAF and the GICHD have signed an agreement with the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates to establish a joint regional office in Amman. Complementing DCAF existing offices in Ramallah and Beirut, the new hub will help strengthen our engagement across the MENA region, including in Palestine, Syria and Yemen. We look forward to deepening our cooperation with national authorities, regional partners and local communities, to advance effective, accountable and responsive security in the region.

DCAF held its 52nd Foundation Council meeting alongside 20 of its members. They voiced strong appreciation for DCAF's work, especially our continued focus on human security, transparency, accountability, as well as the protection of conflict-affected populations. These sentiments are also echoed in the positive findings of DCAF’s evaluation commissioned by the Swiss government. It recognized DCAF's strong convening power, the successful delivery of its organizational reform, and its significant role in norm-setting.
DCAF Deputy Director Béatrice Godefroy joined the European Defence and Security Summit in Brussels to discuss the growing challenge of hybrid threats on the panel "Countering hybrid threats: strengthening democratic resilience and information integrity." The panelists examined how governments, international organizations and technology actors work together to strengthen democratic resilience while safeguarding information integrity. Building accountable institutions and fostering cooperation remain essential to protecting democratic societies.
