Ombuds Institutions

Project contact

Project overview

National human rights institutions (NHRI) – also known as ombuds institutions – have a crucial role to play in monitoring the security sector and holding the security sector accountable for its practices.

NHRIs can interact with other stakeholders to help facilitate broader security sector oversight.
Programming with NHRIs in Ukraine and Georgia focuses on a variety of human rights and security sector governance issues.
