Communications/Project Officer, Public-Private Partnerships Division
Sharon Anderes is a Project officer at the Geneva Centre for the Democratic Control of Armed Forces (DCAF). She develops and implements projects seeking to reinforce the role of civil society organisations as providers to effective oversight and accountability of the private security sector. She is also responsible for the elaboration and implementation of the division's communications and outreach strategy.
Prior to joining DCAF, Sharon Anderes worked as a junior policy analyst at the International Telecommunications Union's Corporate Strategy Division. Before that, she was engaged in different aspects of communications and media, primarily working in broadcast journalism as a producer, talk show host and international correspondent in South Africa, USA and Argentina. She has also worked as an independent communications and media training consultant for the private sector.
Sharon Anderes holds a Master's degree in Political Science majoring in International Relations from the University of Geneva. She also holds a Post-graduate Diploma in Media Management as well as a Bachelor of Social Sciences majoring in Journalism and Media Studies with Politics and International Relations from Rhodes University.
