Maxime Poulin is Deputy Head of DCAF’s Tunis office. He assists the Head of Mission with the implementation and management of DCAF’s programmes in this country. He also spearheads the programmes with the Tunisian Ministry of National Defence and the Tunisian Parliament, the ‘Assemblée des Représentants du Peuple’. Before joining DCAF, Maxime was a political and policy advisor with the Government of Canada, serving the Canadian Minister of Foreign Affairs and the Leader of the Official Opposition. He then joined the Washington-based National Democratic Institute. He also became Development Director for Rights & Democracy, a Montreal based organization. Maxime’s has worked in advisory positions in the Democratic Republic of Congo, The Republic of Guinea, and Iraq. He holds a BA in history from the Université de Sherbrooke (Sherbrooke, Canada) and a Master's degree in Public Communications from Université Laval (Quebec City, Canada). He speaks French, English and Spanish.
