Project Assistant, Policy and Research Division

Laura Biscaglia is a Project Assistant in the Policy and Research Division, where she supports the implementation of the ombuds institutions programme. Her primary responsibilities include organizing the International Conference of Ombuds Institutions for the Armed Forces, an annual conference which gathers ombuds institutions from over 50 countries to share good practices and lessons learned, as well as conducting research on the topic. 

Prior to this position, Laura interned at DCAF’s International Security Sector Advisory Team (ISSAT) and at the George C. Marshall European Center for Security Studies. She also worked as a research assistant for an NGO based in Geneva, focusing on human rights violations in the MENA region. Laura is currently in the process of obtaining her Master’s Degree in International Affairs from the Graduate Institute of Geneva (IHEID), concentrating on conflict and peacebuilding. 

In addition to English, Laura speaks Italian and French.
