Karina Priajina Khudaverdyan

Project Officer, Eastern Europe, South Caucasus, Central Asia Division

Karina is a Project Officer in the ‘Eastern Europe, South Caucasus, Central Asia Division’. She is mainly responsible for projects aimed at achieving inclusive and participatory security sector reform (SSR) in Ukraine. Karina is also the focal point for Building Integrity (BI) and Anti-corruption projects. Additionally, she is in charge of creating and managing communication tools and platforms such as the BI best practices web portal www.securitysectorintegrity.com.

From 2015 to 2017 Karina was responsible for ‘Ukraine - Security Governance Best Practice and Monitoring Platforms’ project funded by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands and implemented by DCAF in cooperation with the Razumkov Centre, which included the www.ukrainesecuritysector.com website as one of its communication tools.

In 2018, she was responsible for the production of the Norwegian-funded Mapping Study on Security Sector Reform Assistance Programmes in Ukraine. Karina also provides support to the division on other projects regarding broader Security Sector Governance programming.

Her previous work at DCAF involved working on various training tools from the Financial Oversight in the Security Sector: A Toolkit for Trainers series for the Middle East and North Africa division.  

Karina completed her Master’s Degree in War Studies at King’s College London and a Master’s Degree in International Politics and a Political Science Degree at the Complutense University of Madrid.

Karina speaks fluently Russian, English, French and Spanish.
