SSR Advisor, ISSAT
Jean-Philippe Kot is a Justice Advisor and provides support to ISSAT advisory field support missions.
He has experience in fact-finding and criminal investigative methods, legal empowerment and Criminal Justice Reform, knowledge management, M&E and impact assessment, technical assistance to national authorities and institutions as well as civil society stakeholders. His country experience covers Sub-Saharan Africa, MENA and South-East Asia.
Prior to joining ISSAT, he has worked as International and Transitional Justice Expert at Avocats Sans Frontières (Lawyers Without Borders). In this function he was responsible to assist field offices in strategy and project development, support knowledge management and learning, provide legal and thematic advice to field offices and supervise legal strategies in cases taken on before national and international Courts. Additionally, Jean-Philippe has worked as Visiting Professional at the Immediate Office of the Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court. In this position he provided support in the management and supervision of all activities undertaken by the Office of the Prosecutor and conducted legal analysis on various issues relevant to the Office. Lastly, he also has experience as lecturer and Research Coordinator in France and Palestine and as a consultant for national authorities and Civil Society Organisations.
Jean-Philippe holds a Ph.D in Public International Law from Aix-Marseille University in France.
